Here are some of the ways schools can Improve ICT:

ICT in the classrooms

1. Train teachers in e-safety issues

According to a research recently carried out, more than thirty-three per cent of teachers in both secondary and primary schools need to receive training in e-safety concerns. the levels of untrained teachers have reduced tremendously in the last two years, the percentage has reduced from forty-nine per cent to thirty-four per cent in secondary schools and fifty-one per cent to thirty-seven per cent in primary schools.

2. Allocate more money to ICT

Spending in schools is expected to increase tremendously in the year two thousand and eighteen to two thousand and nineteen. Government officials say that this is happening only because of the cuts in the budget in the previous years. The budgets in two thousand and eighteen to two thousand and nineteen will increase by four point five percent in primary schools and by four point two percent in secondary schools.

3. Move away from the use of desktops

Desktops are being used less and less in schools today. the use of desktops is expected to reduce to twenty-six percent in secondary schools and thirty-one percent in primary schools in the year two thousand eighteen to two thousand and nineteen. The use of laptops is expected to rise by fourteen percent in secondary schools and ten percent in primary schools. The use of tablets in schools is expected to fall by 2% in primary schools and increase by twenty percent in secondary schools. the reason why the use of tablets and laptops has risen is that of how flexible the devices are laptops, for example, a laptop can be taken to wherever the students and teachers are rather than the teachers and students having to go to where the devices are.

4. Provide teachers with more ICT training.

More than sixty-six percent of secondary schools think that one of the biggest challenges that they will face in the next one year is to train teachers how to utilize their ICT resources. Fifty-four percent of primary schools and sixty-six percent of secondary schools selected this as the biggest challenge. Getting funds that will be spent on sourcing effective digital content and on ICT is the next big challenge. A lack of training is stopping the efficiency gains that can be achieved in schools when schools use software systems. Many school staff understand the full extent of the power of some products to help with some administrative tasks or time-saving processes.
