Cove Communications range of Fibre Optic transceivers:
Both the Silverline and Starline ranges offer high quality and reliable analogue and digital communications. Compared to other types of communication media, fibre has a number of significant advantages including Immunity from electromagnetic interference, longer Transmission Distance, low loss and wide Bandwidth.

The Talkset

An immensely useful piece of testing and commissioning equipment that uses the fibre being installed to provide a high grade audio link.

By combining all the best talk set features it becomes most useful when identifying fibres, optimising splices or comparing test results.

Omni T range of Induction Loop products

Designed to provide an assistive listening facility for individuals with Inductive Loop Pick-up hearing aids, in local areas where a full room system is either not required or is impractical.

Fibre optic data transmission

With appropriate optical transmitters and receivers, a fibre optic system can be constructed which can operate effectively in electrically noisy environments, over greater distances and with greater bandwidth than any other method of transmission. All of our products are capable of transmission distances up to 4km in their standard format.

These advantages apply to both digital and analogue transmission and the Cove Communications range of products effectively satisfy most requirements.

Product range

Our range of Fibre Optic transceivers, the Silverline and Starline range, offer high quality and reliable analogue and digital communications. Compared to other types of communication media, fibre has a number of significant advantages including immunity from electromagnetic interference, longer transmission distance, low loss and wide bandwidth. Users of existing equipment from SAS and Evenlink should note that the Silverline range are direct replacements. Complimenting our transceiver range is the TalkSet, a very useful piece of test and commissioning equipment that uses the fibre being installed to provide a high grade audio link

Induction Loop

We have developed the Omni T range of Induction Loop products which Is designed to provide an assistive listening facility for individuals with Inductive Loop pick-up hearing aids in local areas where a full room system is either not required or is impractical.

Starline ATX – ARX

The STARLINE audio fibre optic line drivers consist of a STARLINE-ATX transmitter unit and a STARLINE-ARX receiver. Together with up to 4 km of multimode fibre, they are ideal for high quality audio distribution, or for telemetry systems using FSK or DTMF signalling. A range of input and output levels can be accommodated as the gain of both the transmitter and receiver are externally adjustable. Also options for input and output impedance are selectable with easily accessible switches.

Silverline VTX – VRX

The Silverline video fibre optic extenders consist of a Silverline-VTX transmitter unit and a Silverline VRX receiver. Together with up to 4km of multimode fibre they are ideal for CCTV and video security applications. An automatic gain control (AGC) unit in the receiver allows adjustment free use with fibre spans from 50m to 4 km.

232 Data

The Silverline and STARLINE – 232 fibre optic extender is a combined optical transmitter and receiver, which is electrically compatible with the RS-232 data standard. Two of these units together with up to 4 km of multimode fibre can provide a full-duplex asynchronous data link signalling at rates of up to 100kbps.

422 Data

The Fox and STARLINE – 422 fibre optic extender is a combined transmitter and receiver, which is electrically compatible with the RS-422 or CCITT V11 data standard. Two of these units together with up to 4km of multimode fibre can provide a full-duplex asynchronous data link signalling at rates of up to 100kbps.

485 Data

The Fox and STARLINE – 485 fibre optic extender is a combined optical transmitter and receiver which is electrically compatible with both the 2-wire and 4-wire implementations of RS-485. Also to prevent data collisions a switchable “time out” function is provided. Two of these units together with up to 4km of multimode fibre can provide a full duplex asynchronous data link signalling at rates of up to 10 Mbps.

20mA – CL

The Silverline and STARLINE – 20mACL fibre optic extender is a combined optical transmitter and receiver, which is electrically compatible with the 20mA current loop interface standard. Two of these units together with up to 4km of multimode fibre can provide a full-duplex asynchronous data link signalling at rates of up to 9.6 kbps

TTL

The Fox and STARLINE -TTL fibre optic extender is a combined optical transmitter and receiver which is electrically compatible with TTL input logic levels. Two of these units together with up to 4km of multimode fibre can provide a full-duplex asynchronous data signalling at rates of up to 10Mbps.

Cove Fibre Optic Repeater

The Cove FTT-10A Fibre Optic Transceiver has been designed for use with communication systems that conform to the LonWorks specification.

It comprises of a bi-directional digital data interface and an optical fibre transmitter/receiver for the communication of data over long distances.

It is fully compatible with our STARLINE range of Eurocard based data transceivers.
